If you’re interested in upgrading or replacing your current heating system, you may want to consider a Coleman mobile home furnace. Coleman Electric Mobile Home Furnace
If you’re interested in an electric furnace, Coleman markets the EB line for mobile homes. On the low end, EB10B puts out 34,000 BTUs. A BTUh (British Thermal Unit per hour) is a measure of heat. It takes one BTU to heat a pound of water, 1 degree, at one atmosphere of pressure. The higher the BTU, the more heat the furnace will put out- of course the furnace will cost more and you’re going to use more electricity to run it, so if matching your existing capacity is a good idea. On the high end, the EB23B puts out more than double that, at 77,000 BTU. All of these Coleman mobile home furnace units will integrate with air conditioners and heat pumps, up to 4 tons and 3 ½ times respectively.
Also note that you should never replace mobile home furnaces with furnaces built for a conventional home, the small spaces, and smaller ducting require specialized equipment. For example, the Coleman furnaces are designed to be zero clearance. This means that combustible material can be adjacent to the furnace without creating the danger of damage to property. (That doesn’t mean however that there should be no clearance to work on the furnace, it’s a good idea to leave at least 2 feet in front of the unit if for servicing the unit. You’re also going to need at least 200 square inches free opening for return air above the unit.)
Coleman Gas Mobile Home Furnace
For gas options, Coleman offers to DGAA and that DGAH series. (The AA series is air conditioner ready, up to four tons.) They range from 45,000 to 72,000 BTUs. All models are 80% AFUE. AFUE, or Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency, which is a measure of how efficiently your furnace converts fuel the heat. The government dictates that all furnaces should be at least 78% AFUE. You should also note that these furnaces are a sealed combustion design, which is a requirement for any furnace that operates within a mobile home.
